Balancing motherhood & work: After twins, Mallika Parekh was sending emails from the hospital

Around two months ago, banker Deepak Parekh welcomed two new grandchildren to the family.

Older son Aditya and wife Mallika turned parents to twin girls. The new milestone has brought much joy to the couple as well as a fresh challenge of balancing their personal and professional lives.

“I have an unbelievable team professionally and at home. My husband’s been super supportive. So I’ve been blessed. It’s the only way that I could have managed. It’s been good to have him as the backbone,” Mallika said, when asked about managing the demands of motherhood and her work, which includes a new fitness initiative.

“I was sending emails from the hospital. There were a few days after surgery (she had a C-section), when the phone was ripped away from me because I needed to rest. But I didn’t really (stop working). When you have your own ventures, you don’t really stop, ever,” she said, with a laugh.
