Baby joy for Snapdeal's Rohit Bansal

To the world, Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal are business partners and co-founders of Snapdeal. But the equation between the two even today is more friendship, less business. Bahl's hasty exit from the office, when he heard that Bansal's wife, Parul, had delivered a baby girl on Wednesday, was no surprise to colleagues.

No sooner than he had heard news of the baby, Bahl dropped everything, cancelled all meetings and rushed out. This is Bansal's second child after his son, Vyas.

The founding partners go a long way back. They are childhood friends, who went to school together. The two even studied for IIT entrance exams together. Only Bansal got through. And Bahl, made his way to Wharton in the US.

The paths of the two diverged during this period, each pursuing academics in different lands and then chasing careers. But their dream of doing business soon brought them back together again and the rest, as they say, is history.
