Babil Khan gets 'stay away from alcohol and Bollywood after-parties' advice from Sanam Teri Kasam actor Harshvardhan Rane

Actor Babil Khan recently found himself at the center of a social media storm after a video of him breaking down emotionally went viral. The young actor parked concern among fans and netizens alike. While the video initially led to speculation and confusion, several members of the film industry have come forward in support of him—most notably actor Harshvardhan Rane, who penned a heartfelt message to Babil, urging him to stay grounded and focused on his craft. Babil Khan is son of late actor Irrfan Khan.

The emotionally charged video, which Babil later deleted, showed him naming several actors including Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, and Arjun Kapoor. The clip raised eyebrows and led many to wonder if the actor was in distress or dealing with issues related to the pressures of the film industry.

Following the viral clip, Harshvardhan Rane used his Instagram Stories to address the situation directly. In his message to Babil, Rane offered words of encouragement, recognizing the immense talent the young actor possesses. Drawing from his own experience as an outsider in Bollywood, Rane highlighted the emotional toll the entertainment world can sometimes inflict, especially on those who are not born into it.


He urged Babil to focus on his acting and legacy, and to steer clear of distractions like industry parties and negative influences. Harshvardhan emphasized the importance of mental and physical well-being, subtly reminding the actor that staying strong requires discipline and self-care. His note also included advice on avoiding toxic environments and substances, which he believes can derail one’s journey.

"I am not from a film family, i have learnt that people wont treat you badly if you dont allow them. You need to 'stand your ground.' ... also pls 'stay away from alcohol and any such stuff', because to stand tall you will need strength," Harshvardhan Rane said in the message to Babil Khan.

Rane’s heartfelt message struck a chord with many, as it not only supported Babil but also shed light on the less glamorous side of showbiz—the emotional burnout and pressure that young actors often face behind the scenes.

In response to the speculation surrounding the video, Babil's team and family released an official statement to provide context and reassurance. According to them, the video was taken out of context and was never intended to cause controversy. They clarified that Babil was simply acknowledging and appreciating the artistic contributions of his peers.

The statement further explained that Babil, like anyone else, has days when his emotions get the better of him, and this video was recorded during one such difficult moment. They assured fans that he is safe and taking time to recuperate. His comments were, according to them, motivated by admiration and were not meant to spark any negativity or comparisons.

Meanwhile, Raghav Juyal, who was also mentioned in Babil’s video, opened up about his reaction to the situation. He shared that he had a conversation with Babil’s mother, Sutapa Sikdar, who revealed that Babil had experienced an anxiety attack. According to Raghav, Babil had been in Hyderabad preparing for a shoot that was supposed to begin the next day, but plans changed as he returned home to rest and recover.

Siddhant Chaturvedi also responded in a more indirect yet poignant way. He shared a clip of Babil writing something on paper, captioned with the words, “Mujhe itihaas likhna hain, kitaab nahi,” reflecting a deeper philosophical perspective. Siddhant followed this up with a message directed at gossip platforms and netizens, asking them to refrain from sensationalizing the situation. e ek baar soch lein," Siddhant concluded.
