More than a decade after Baahubali reshaped Indian cinema, SS Rajamouli has found a new way to bring the saga back into the spotlight. With Baahubali: The Epic, the filmmaker has stitched together both films into one sweeping narrative, offering fans a fresh way to experience Mahishmati’s legendary rise and fall. After a successful theatrical re-release, the long-awaited OTT arrival is finally happening, just in time for Christmas.

SS Rajamouli’s ambitious reimagining, titled Baahubali: The Epic, first hit theatres in October 2025. Instead of presenting Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion as separate films, the director created a single, tightly edited version that blends both parts into one continuous story. The original combined runtime of the two films was nearly 5 hours and 48 minutes. For this special cut, Rajamouli and his team reshaped the narrative and brought it down to a more immersive 3 hours and 40 minutes.

The re-release arrived on the big screen on October 3 and quickly became a nostalgic event for fans who had followed the franchise since its original release. For many, it was a rare chance to revisit the grandeur of Mahishmati, the thunderous background score, and the emotional arcs of Amarendra and Mahendra Baahubali in a refreshed format.

Baahubali: The Epic on OTT

Now, audiences who missed the theatrical run finally have a reason to celebrate. Baahubali: The Epic is set to stream on Netflix from December 25, perfectly timed with Christmas. While Netflix has not yet made a formal announcement on its social media platforms, the title appears on the app with a confirmed release date of December 25, making the OTT launch effectively official.
