Disney announced the new total on October 4.

As Marvel movies are known for their post-credits scenes, which carry a very important signal about the next any other upcoming movie, this rereleased movie also carried four minutes of extra footage. This extra footage was not added to the original film, which was three hours and one minute long. This post-credit scene could be a hint to the upcoming Marvel movie Doomsday. Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18, 2026. The original film had not had the extra scenes because that was supposed to be the end of the 22nd Marvel film.

The film had earned about $2.885 billion after its opening weekend. It was then around $39 million behind Avatar. TheWrap reported that the re-release added about $126 million to Endgame's lifetime box office. That included $36.2 million from the domestic market. It also included $89.8 million from international markets. The extra earnings helped the 2019 Marvel film take the record back.
