Atul Kasbekar's travel tales: Hunting for white truffles in Croatia
The photographer was in the country for a calendar shoot.

“White truffle is a mushroom which is found only for two-three months and we were lucky to be in Croatia during that time of the year. And because they grow underground, they’re very difficult to find. Fortunately, truffles have a particularly pungent perfume which trained dogs can sniff out,” the photographer says.
So off he went, with a few trained dogs and returned with truffles. “The flavour of white truffles lasts only for a few days, unlike black ones. This is why the white ones cost a fortune. It was a super fun experience,” recalls Kasbekar.
