Indian badminton champion and Olympic silver medalist P.V Sindhu and her coach P. Gopichand returned home to a grand reception amidst much fanfare.

The duo reached Gachibowli stadium in a open-top-motorcade as part of the victory parade, where the Telangana government had organised a gala felicitation in honour of the star shuttler.

Talking on the occasion, the ace shuttler said, " I'm on cloud 9. The rousing welcome made my day, didn't expect this".

Thanking her parents and coach, she also said there were a lot of sacrifices along the way, but she believed in herself all the time.

Praising her performance, coach P. Gopichand said, "She played brilliantly. It is a happy moment for us".

The proud parents spoke about her 'dedication, practice, and hardwork', saying, "We are honoured to have a child like Sindhu. This is a great feeling. We are very delighted".
