At Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's b'day event, daughter Aaradhya steals the show with impromptu speech

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turned a year older on Wednesday - but it was her daughter Aaradhya who stole the show with her speech.

Aishwarya rang in her 50th on Wednesday with daughter Aaradhya and mother Vrinda Rai. On her special day, the 'Iruvar' actress attended an event at the Gaud Saraswat Brahmin Seva Mandal in Mumbai. She also made a donation of Rs 1 crore through her foundation to help build a hospital for cancer patients in the city.

While addressing the crowds and media on her birthday, Aishwarya revealed that her mother was suffering from Cancer earlier this year but is fine now.


She said, "Okay, I don't know if I should be saying this, but Cancer has touched our lives personally. First, it was my dad and my mum got it earlier this year but she has come out of it, with the support of so many incredible doctors and a lot of love and blessings from everyone."

But it was her 11-year-old daughter's speech (first-ever, on a public platform, apparently) that left her mother impressed, and a little overwhelmed.

"I feel that what my darling, my life, my mom is doing is truly important and truly wonderful. It’s truly enriching and fulfilling. It’s helping the world, it’s helping everyone around us, it’s helping people and I just want to say, what you are doing is truly incredible," Aaradhya said, as her actress mother looked on, slightly taken aback.


Aishwarya, looking elegant in a white chikankari suit, acknowledged that Aaradhya's words were impromptu. The tween then took a bow as the audience gave a standing ovation.

Hours after the video started circulating online, there were some social media warriors who tried to troll Aaradhya.

However, the 'PS-1' star's loyalists shut down trolls and asked them to spare a child who was making her debut public-speaking appearance.

Although Aishwarya cut a cake that was organised for her at the event, she did not eat a slice as she was fasting for her husband Abhishek on the occasion of Karwa Chauth which was celebrated on Wednesday.

Aishwarya was also spotted at the Siddhivinayak temple where she had gone to seek divine blessings.

Aishwarya has been a part of numerous blockbusters including 'Devdas', 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Mohabbatein', 'Guru' and 'Jodhaa Akbar'.
