Astronaut Buzz Aldrin over the moon as he gets hitched to long-time sweetheart on 93rd birthday

Falling in love doesn’t come with an age limit.

There are many ways of celebrating your birthday, but few are as memorable as getting hitched to the love of your life.

That’s how Dr.Buzz Aldrin spent his 93rd birthday.


Aldrin who is a noted astronaut, as well as the second man who walk the moon, walked the aisle with his long-time girlfriend Dr. Anca Faur. This is the fourth time he has said ‘I do’.

Dr. Aldrin who is often active on social media, took to Twitter to share the happy news with 1.5 million followers. Describing themselves as a couple of “excited eloping teenagers”, he dropped some lovey-dovey pictures and revealed that they had got hitched in a private low-key ceremony in Los Angeles. “On my 93rd birthday & the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur & I have tied the knot. We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles & are as excited as eloping teenagers,” read the post.
Since being shared, the post has accumulated more than 24.3 million views, more than 151K likes, and 10K retweets. In the photos, Faur looks radiant in a pristine, lacy dress, while Dr. Aldrin looks dapper in a classic black and white wedding suit.

Several well-wishers congratulated the couple in the comment section. Filmmaker Dean Cain wrote, “God bless you sir.” CBC radio host Tom Harrington commented, “ You must be over the moon! But seriously sir, congratulations to you both.” Another commented cheekily, “I am glad ya’ll are keeping in each other’s orbit.”
Dr. Faur, 63 is the executive vice president of Aldrin’s firm Buzz Aldrin Ventures.

Dr. Aldrin was one of the three astronauts to set foot on the moon in the Apollo 11 space flight in 1969. He is also one of the four alive people to have walked on the moon.
