As Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala get busy for their wedding preparations, the astrologer who had earlier predicted their split faces a probe. Shortly after Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala get engaged in August in Hyderabad, an astrologer named Venu Swamy drew attention with a shocking prediction. Swamy, who had earlier predicted Naga Chaitanya -Samantha Ruth Prabhu divorce, had said Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala relationship would face insurmountable challenges and ultimately end by 2027. His words quickly ignited controversy, especially among fans and journalists, who saw the prediction as intrusive and unwelcome during a time of celebration.

Swamy’s prediction, which he shared through a video post on Instagram, suggested that the couple's relationship would suffer due to an unspecified third party. This statement immediately faced backlash online. Fans condemned the astrologer for his insensitivity, questioning the accuracy and ethics of publicly predicting someone’s personal life. Additionally, the Telugu Film Journalist Association (TFJA) took serious issue with Swamy’s remarks, filing a formal complaint that accused him of inappropriate and harmful commentary on a personal matter. This complaint also highlighted Swamy’s history of making unsettling predictions, including his forecast of Chaitanya’s previous marriage to actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, which ended in 2021.

Following the criticism, Swamy removed his original video on about Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala and issued an apology, attempting to clarify his prediction as merely an extension of his previous forecasts regarding Chaitanya’s relationships.

Venu Swamy faces probe

In response to the TFJA’s complaint, the Telangana High Court took up the issue, instructing an investigation into Swamy’s conduct. Initially, Swamy attempted to protect himself legally by securing a stay against any actions from the Women’s Commission, which had been notified of the complaint. However, this stay was later revoked by the High Court, which ruled that the Women’s Commission holds authority to proceed with an investigation, according to a Deccan Chronicle report. Swamy was ordered to appear for questioning, with a deadline set for the investigation’s completion within a week.

While the investigation unfolds, Chaitanya and Sobhita remain focused on their upcoming wedding, which fans are eagerly anticipating. Scheduled for December 4, 2024, according to reports, the event is expected to be an intimate affair with close family and friends. Although the couple has kept most details under wraps, insiders suggest the wedding may feature a reception in Hyderabad following a destination ceremony, blending tradition with exclusivity.

The couple made a radiant public appearance at the ANR Centenary Celebrations, where Sobhita was introduced as the latest member of the Akkineni family.
