ASICS India's Yohei Takahashi shoe tips: Beginners shouldn't wear thin soles
The US educated, Gurgaon-based Japanese played football for 15 years and now does the triathlon.

According to Yohei Takahashi, marketing head, ASICS India, it is safer for beginners to wear thick soles. “It depends upon the runner's ability,“ Takahashi says.“Beginners shouldn't wear thin soles. Because while running you put almost three times your body weight on your foot. So it's better to have cushion and stability for your foot. Advanced runners can maybe wear thin soles."
Takahashi may have a vested interest in plumping for elaborate running kicks, but he knows a bit about sport.
