As Argentina beat Croatia to enter FIFA World Cup 2022 final, Adele confesses her love for Lionel Messi in old video

It's a big day for Lionel Messi fans as Argentina has made its way to the final of FIFA World Cup 2022 after defeating Croatia with a comfortable 3-0 win in the semi-final on Tuesday.

The legend now has the chance to crown his exceptional football career by bagging the World Cup, and just like many, the 15 times Grammy winner, Adele is also tuned in to FIFA.

An old video clip from a few days ago is now making rounds on the Internet which shows the British singer showering love for Messi.


The video captured Adele's excitement after Argentina beat Netherlands on penalties. The two days old video shows the 'Rolling in the Deep' singer, who was at one of her concerts at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, confessing her love for the 35-year-old footballer.

According to a report in Argentine newspaper La Nacion, Adele was surrounded by fans when she asked one of the fans if they were from the South American country. "Are you from Argentina?" Thank god they won on penalties today!," the singer said.

Adele, who is known for being warm and compassionate person and always accommodating her fans, got close to one the asking for a selfie. The singer jokingly asked the person to take the photo quickly.
"Quickly, because if I take a picture with you, I have to do it with everyone else," Adele said.

"Do you want a picture too? Quickly because I have to sing for everyone!" the 'Skyfall' singer said after taking a picture with another fan.

In between this casual chat, the 34-year-old singer confessed her love for the PSG player (Paris Saint-Germain).

"I love you, Messi! Bye! I love you, Messi!" she said.

Apart from Adele, another singer from Britain, Harry Styles, also joined thousands of fans during one of his concerts to celebrate Argentina's win.

In a video that was uploaded on Twitter, we see jumping and cheering from the stage, along with the fans.
Attention now turns to Wednesday, when France are strong favourites to beat Morocco and take a step closer to defending their title. The odds are stacked against Morocco but the African team's history-making run has caught the imagination of a continent and they have been backed by legions of fans in Qatar.
