Artist Jehangir Jani's list of fave artists is quite 'schizophrenic'

Artist Jehangir Jani recently teamed up with fashion brand Aldo to immortalise some of their pieces in his installations. At the event, he revealed that his own list of favourite artists is quite ‘schizophrenic’. “I like Eva Hurst. She’s no more but she’s easily my top artist. Jeff Koons is again a favourite.” Talking about what he likes about them, Jani says that he’s all game for works that challenge him as a viewer. “Nasreen Mohamedi is another Indian artist who became international posthumously. She was brilliant.

Both Eva and Nasreen had that quality of large universes within a small container. Their works are so meticulous and at the same time, so large. Jeff Koons, on the other hand, is out there, florid and in your face. I like these complete opposites,” Jani said, with a laugh.
