Art Bengaluru 2015 to start with a 'Paradigm Shift'
The city's largest art festival, Art Bengaluru, is all set to mark a shift in terms of concepts, curation and art diversification.
Festival organiser Uzma Irfan told ET that the festival, which opens at UB City on August 21, will include workshops on butterfly rearing, instrument making, sushi and dimsum making. "Art is not just visual painting and sculptures," she said.

The 10-day festival's theme 'Paradigm Shift' indicates the changing perception of global art, said artist Suresh Jayaram of 1 Shanthi Road, who curated the works of 35 participating artists."We want the audience to pause and contemplate the creative indulgence of the artist and their ability to question reality, creating a new dynamic with the visual culture of our times," he said. While a lounge will focus on video art, restaurants will feature installations made of food materials.

Jayaram will also lead a series of curated walks a first for the festival to give visitors an in-depth understanding of the displayed artworks. "There will be three-four walks every day, one of which will be conducted specifically for schools," said Irfan.

While last year saw 'Invisible Man' Liu Bolin from China present his camouflage artwork, this year will see artists Kevin Kelly from Canada, Li Hongbo from China and Nicolas Clauss from France.
