Arjuna awardee Lalita Babar to make a comeback after marriage, thanks supportive in-laws

There are hurdles in Lalita Babar’s life, which she crosses them with the sprint of a winner. And why not — she is, after all, the country’s steeplechase champion. Babar may jump over hurdles for a living, but there’s one hurdle she doesn’t have to cross– her right to compete after marriage — thanks to her supportive in-laws and husband.

The Arjuna awardee is on her comeback trail post her wedding to handball player Sandeep Bhosale in May last year. And while a comeback is tricky business, she is raring to go.

“My husband and his parents have been very supportive. My in-laws may not be educated, but they still support me and my game wholeheartedly. They treat me like a daughter,” Babar said at an event in Mumbai recently.

Now that’s something we’d like to hear more often.
