A techie revealed why so many people were struggling living in Bengaluru despite earning big
Is life in Bengaluru that expensive? While many social media posts on how living in India’s Silicon Valley can be extremely pricey have gone viral, a tech professional recently took to X to explain how how well you live in Bengaluru all comes down to your mindset rather than salary.

Deep, the X user wrote: “Rs 30 LPA is the new poor from Bangalore standards.” He then went on to explain that sometimes why certain people struggle even after earning very well in Bengaluru is because of their tendency to splurge big on luxuries and failing to differentiate between necessities and luxuries.

He explained: “How will you afford staying Bengaluru when: A ₹2 lakh smartwatch to check time while being late. - The newest iPhone for flex between your colleagues.

- A 2.5 crore flat with EMls for flexing in your relatives
- A international trip every 8 months for Instagram flex
- A ₹5L per year school for a 4-year-old who prefers cartoons over curriculum..”

He then revealed how he had friends with relatively modest salaries (Rs 70- 80K per month) who live comfortable lives. He concluded that standards of living all comes down to expenditure and one should learn to distinguish between needs and wants, or they will always be caught in a viscous circle of EMIs a nd outstanding loans they have failed to pay.
