Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi’s younger son, Aayushmann Sethi, recently became the victim of a credit card scam, losing Rs 87,000. The incident, which surfaced through a vlog shared online by his elder brother Aaryamann Sethi, quickly grabbed attention not just for the financial loss but also for the family’s candid and humorous reaction to the situation. While the scam itself caused initial panic, what followed inside the Sethi household added an unexpected twist.

How Archana Puran Singh's son got scammed online

According to Aaryamann’s vlog, the incident happened when Aayushmann noticed a large, unauthorised transaction on his credit card. Visibly anxious, he shared that Rs 87,000 had been deducted without his clear consent. The confusion stemmed from what he believed was a harmless “seven-day free trial” offer. Instead, he was charged a full annual fee almost immediately after approving a minor initial transaction.

Reacting to the situation, Archana appeared stunned on hearing the amount and urged her son to act quickly. She advised him to immediately contact the credit card company and cancel the transaction. Parmeet, however, stepped in to clarify that cancelling the entire card might not be necessary, and instead suggested reversing or disputing the payment.

Despite the seriousness of the issue, the mood in the room soon shifted. As Aayushmann struggled to figure out the next steps, including difficulty reaching customer care, the family began to lighten the moment with jokes. His confusion over where to find options to reverse the payment led to laughter, with Aaryamann teasing him about handling the situation independently.

Family calls him 'regular customer' for fraudster

The banter escalated when Aaryamann recalled a similar incident from the past. He shared that during the recce of his project, Aayushmann had once lost nearly Rs 80,000 due to a PlayStation-related fraud. That earlier episode, he pointed out, also involved money that was never recovered. This revelation led to more teasing, with a family member jokingly calling Aayushmann a “regular customer” for fraudsters.

Aayushmann, however, defended himself, explaining that the current situation was not entirely his fault. He maintained that the platform misled him with its trial offer and charged him without proper authorisation. He also emphasised that he would handle the matter himself, even as his family continued to react with a mix of concern and amusement.

Adding to the chaos, Aayushmann mentioned that he was unable to immediately connect with customer support and was instead directed to automated responses, which further frustrated him. At one point, despite the ongoing issue, he was seen playing video games while waiting for a response from the bank, which led to more jokes from his brother about his calm approach after such a loss.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Archana was recently seen in Toaster, which is currently streaming on Netflix. Stay tuned!
