Apple’s new Creator Studio brings AI video editing, image generation, and Logic Pro upgrades

Apple has launched Creator Studio, a new subscription bundling professional creative apps like Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, with a strong emphasis on on-device AI

Apple Creator Studio is available starting today as a subscription priced at ₹399 per month or ₹3,999 annually.

Apple has rolled out a major update to its professional creative software lineup with the launch of Apple Creator Studio, a subscription that brings together Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and Apple’s productivity apps under a single umbrella. The update focuses heavily on on-device AI, tighter integration between Apple’s creative apps, and new tools aimed at video editors, designers, and music producers.

Final Cut Pro Gets AI-Powered Editing Tools

The biggest changes arrive in Final Cut Pro, where Apple is introducing several AI-powered workflow features.
One of the most notable additions is Generate Captions, which automatically transcribes spoken audio into subtitles directly on the timeline. Editors can then customise fonts, colours, animations, and positioning without relying on third-party tools.

Another addition is Edit Detection, which analyses an exported video and reconstructs individual edit points on the timeline. This could be particularly useful for creators who need to revisit older exports or repurpose finished videos into shorter clips for platforms like Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts.

Mac users receive a few exclusive upgrades. Auto Mask can automatically identify subjects such as people, hair, clothing, skies, and foliage using on-device AI, making selective colour grading and effects significantly easier. Apple has also refreshed Match Color for more accurate colour consistency between clips, while Advanced Trimming offers more precise frame-by-frame editing.

Final Cut Camera is also receiving updates, including Clean HDMI output for external recording setups, expanded ProRes support, and an option to disable digital zoom so footage always captures the camera’s full optical resolution.

Pixelmator Pro Is Now Built Into Apple’s Workflow

Following Apple’s acquisition of Pixelmator, the company is integrating it much more deeply across its ecosystem. Editors can now send a frame directly from Final Cut Pro into Pixelmator Pro, edit it, and place it back into the timeline without exporting files manually. The same workflow also extends to Keynote, Pages, and Numbers, allowing users to edit images inside documents while automatically syncing changes back into the project.

Pixelmator Pro is also gaining AI-powered image generation alongside a new Content Hub featuring stock graphics, illustrations, photos, and reusable design assets. Apple is also introducing AI-generated vector shapes that can be created using natural language and saved for future projects.

Motion, Compressor and Productivity Apps Receive Smaller Updates

Motion now supports resolution-independent vector graphics and introduces easier layer distribution tools for animation workflows. Compressor adds support for immersive media workflows, including Apple Vision Pro content, alongside an improved metadata viewer and stereoscopic preview tools. Meanwhile, Apple’s productivity apps are also getting incremental upgrades.

Keynote receives new presentation transitions, Pages gains Auto-Hyphenate and editing tools like Show Invisibles on iPhone and iPad, while Numbers now lets users colour-code or hide spreadsheet tabs for easier navigation.

Freeform is also expanding with Dark Mode, folders for organising boards, Mac drawing support, AI-generated shapes, and direct Pixelmator integration.

Logic Pro Adds Smarter Music Production Features

Apple is also updating Logic Pro on both Mac and iPad. Chord ID has been rebuilt to recognise more complex harmonies, including inversions and extended chords, even when recordings are imperfect or slightly out of tune. This also improves how Session Players respond inside projects.

Music producers also get a new Producer Project built around Grammy Award-winning producer Khris Riddick-Tynes’ track Shoulda Never. Apple says the session includes the original multitrack recordings, MIDI data, and production workflow, giving users a behind-the-scenes look at a commercial production.

Alchemy, Logic Pro’s flagship synthesiser, gains a new granular sync mode, accompanied by a dedicated sound pack. Beat Breaker also expands with new filter modes, panning controls, and randomisation options for generating rhythmic variations.

Pricing

Apple Creator Studio is available starting today as a subscription priced at ₹399 per month or ₹3,999 annually.
Students and educators can subscribe for ₹199 per month or ₹1,999 annually. New subscribers receive a one-month free trial, while buyers of eligible new Macs and iPads get three months included at no additional cost.
For users who prefer perpetual licences, Apple will continue offering standalone purchases. Final Cut Pro is priced at ₹29,900, Logic Pro at ₹19,900, Pixelmator Pro at ₹999, Motion at ₹4,900, Compressor at ₹4,999, and MainStage at ₹2,999. The update is available today through the App Store.
