While iPad Pro with an OLED screen may be launched by 2024, the MacBook Pro with an OLED screen may hit the market in 2026.
Premium smartphone manufacturer Apple has ordered four different sizes of OLED panels that are expected to be featured in the upcoming iPad Pro and MacBook Pro devices.
The media reports said that the iPhone-maker has ordered panels of 10.86-inch and 12.9-inch for iPad Pro, and 14-inch and 16-inch for MacBook Pro. "There is various panel development from 10 inches to 16 inches in progress," an unnamed source was quoted as telling AppleInsider.
Moreover, the tech giant has ordered a 20.25-inch OLED screen, which it describes as 'foldable', according to the report.
While AppleInsider reports that iPad Pro with an OLED screen will be launched by 2024, the MacBook Pro with an OLED screen may hit the market in 2026.
Reportedly, Apple and Samsung Display have started working together on OLED panel development for the upcoming iPad Pro and MacBook Pro models. Now, reports suggest that Apple may also collaborate with LG Display for the same.
Existing MacBook Pro uses a Mini-LED display, which offers higher all-screen brightness than OLED panels, but also suffers from blooming in dark screens, the report said.

Last month, it was understood that Samsung was working to develop two-stack tandem OLED panels for certain iPad models, to be launched in 2024. Two-stack tandem OLED panels include two layers of pixels instead of one and this hybrid technology is likely to offer higher brightness and longer life than existing OLED panels which are used in smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, TVs and laptops.
