Apple TV+ pulls the plug on Patricia Arquette's comedy series 'High Desert'

Los Angeles, Oscar winner Patricia Arquette has announced that her comedy drama series "High Desert" will not return for a second season on Apple TV+. In a video posted on Instagram, the actor said the streamer has cancelled the show, which ran from May 17 to June 21.

"A lot of you have asked about 'High Desert' and if there was going to be a second season, we just found out that it won't be coming back. That's a sad bummer for all of us," Arquette, 55, said.

In the show, created by Nancy Fichman, Katie Ford and Jennifer Hoppe-House, the actor essayed the role of Peggy, a former addict, who decides to start a new life after the death of her mother and becomes a private investigator.


Arquette, who won the best supporting actor Oscar for 2014's "Boyhood", thanked the show's writers, actors and the entire crew for their efforts.

"We just had a blast. I love Peggy and that punk rock world. Thanks to you guys for watching. Can't win them all. You know, it sucks but... tough," she added.

"High Desert" also featured Brad Garrett, Weruche Opia, Bernadette Peters, Rupert Friend and Matt Dillon.
