iPhone 15, iPhone 14 get a big price cut in India after iPhone 16 launch

American tech giant Apple has announced significant price cuts for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models in India, with discounts going up to Rs 10,000 following the much-anticipated launch of the iPhone 16. iPhone 15 128GB variant is currently listed at Rs 69,900, as compared to earlier price of Rs 79,600. Similarly, iPhone 14 128GB variant also saw a price cut of about Rs 10,000, from Rs 69,600 to Rs 59,900.

It is to be noted that in July Apple had announced a 3-4% price reduction in different iPhone models after Indian government had cut duty on consumer electronics in Budget 2024.

iPhone 16 Series Launch

On Monday, Apple unveiled its latest iPhone series, designed with advanced generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, as part of the company’s push to stay ahead in the competitive tech landscape. The new iPhone 16 series boasts several AI-driven features aimed at enhancing user experience and boosting sales for the tech giant.

“We are excited to introduce the first iPhones built from the ground up with Apple Intelligence, bringing groundbreaking new features to our users,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook at a launch event held at the company’s Silicon Valley headquarters.

"Apple Intelligence" is a suite of AI-powered software that was first teased during Apple’s developer conference in June. At the same event, the company also revealed a collaboration with OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT.

The AI features will initially roll out as a test on the iPhone 16 and other premium models, with availability in English starting next month. Apple has plans to introduce additional language support in future updates.

iPhone 16 Price and Availability in India

The iPhone 16 series is set to open for pre-orders soon, with official sales beginning on September 20, 2024. Here are the starting prices for the models:

iPhone 16: Priced at Rs 79,900 with EMI options starting at Rs 12,483/month.
iPhone 16 Plus: Priced at Rs 89,900 with EMI options starting at Rs 14,150/month.

Additionally, customers can take advantage of a trade-in offer, with discounts ranging from Rs 4,000 to Rs 67,500. No-cost EMI options are also available for these new models, making it easier for buyers to upgrade to the latest iPhone.
