Apple silently slashes price of previous iPhones in India, XR now available for Rs 54,900 onwards

Apple is one tech giant that takes tradition too seriously, be it about launching products on a specific day or about leaving fans stunned. While each year the Cupertino-based company surprises fans with impressive new features, this year it decided to get the same reaction through an exceedingly-smart pricing strategy. Last year, due to a surge in prices, Apple's iPhone X line-up witnessed a downfall in sales. However, this year, the company chose to strengthen its current features and offer the upgraded iPhone 11 series at an affordable price. However, that's not where Apple's tech treat ended. The tech giant also slashed prices of its previous flagship device, the iPhone X series, the iPhone 8 and 7 as well.

Last year, Apple took the wraps off the iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. Originally, the iPhone XR (64GB) was priced at Rs 76,900 in India. This year, the same has come down to Rs 49,900. The 128GB version of the same device is priced at Rs 54,900.

• iPhone 8 Plus (64GB) - Rs 49,900
• iPhone 8 Plus (128GB) - Rs 54,900
• iPhone 7 (32GB) - Rs 29,900
• iPhone 7 (128GB) - Rs 34,900
• iPhone 7 Plus (128GB) - Rs 42,900

Apple's two new premium devices, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, are available in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB variants and 4 colours at a starting price of Rs 99,900 and Rs 109,900. The iPhone 11 is available at a starting price of Rs 64,900. These will be available in India from September 27.

Apple also slashed the prices of its Watch Series in India. The Apple Series 3 now begins at Rs 20,900.
