Apple introduces iPhone 17e as a lower-cost entry into the 17 lineup: Check India pricing and specs

Apple has expanded its iPhone 17 lineup with the introduction of the iPhone 17e, positioning it as a more accessible option within its latest generation of smartphones.

The device sits below the main iPhone 17 models in terms of pricing and feature set, continuing Apple’s strategy of offering a relatively lower-cost variant within its annual refresh cycle. While it carries the core design language of the 17 series, certain hardware trade-offs distinguish it from the flagship versions.

The iPhone 17e runs on the same generation of Apple silicon as the rest of the lineup, ensuring performance consistency for everyday tasks and software longevity. However, it features a more streamlined camera system and display configuration, reflecting its role as a step-down model rather than a direct flagship competitor.


Apple appears to be targeting users who want access to the latest iOS experience and long-term software support without paying flagship pricing. This approach mirrors the company’s recent strategy of segmenting its portfolio more clearly across price bands, rather than relying solely on older-generation models to serve the mid-range.


Design-wise, the iPhone 17e retains the flat-edge form factor and overall aesthetic introduced in recent years. Build materials and display specifications, however, are likely positioned slightly below the premium variants to maintain cost differentiation.
