Apple ‘Pro and Tell’ event confirmed for October 28
Apple is preparing for its second major hardware event this month, scheduled for October 28 at 10 AM Pacific Time (10:30 PM IST) in Los Angeles. The event, titled ‘Pro and Tell’, is expected to focus on the company’s Mac and iPad lineup.
Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, also teased the upcoming launch on social media, saying, “Can’t wait to pro and tell next week.”
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has invited select media to a product launch experience. While the event itself is confirmed, the devices expected to be showcased are based on reports and leaks.
Touchscreen MacBook Pro with OLED display
Perhaps the biggest expected announcement is Apple’s first touchscreen MacBook Pro.The redesigned laptops are reportedly coming in 14-inch and 16-inch variants, featuring OLED displays instead of the current mini-LED panels. The new models could also introduce a Dynamic Island-style cutout, replacing the existing notch.
Other expected specifications include Apple’s M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, a lighter chassis and touchscreen support integrated into macOS.
This would mark a significant shift for Apple, which has traditionally kept touch-based interactions exclusive to the iPad and iPhone.
New M6 MacBook Pro and iMac
Apple is also expected to expand its M6 chip lineup with a refreshed 14-inch MacBook Pro and a 24-inch iMac.Unlike the OLED MacBook Pro models, these devices are expected to retain their existing designs, with the primary improvements focused on processing performance and efficiency.
The iMac could also receive new colour options.
iPad mini 8 could finally get OLED
Another anticipated announcement is the eighth-generation iPad mini. The compact tablet is expected to receive an OLED display, potentially offering improved contrast, deeper blacks and better viewing quality.
Reports suggest that the iPad mini 8 could feature Apple’s A20 Pro processor, a landscape-oriented front camera, redesigned speakers and improved water resistance.
The move to OLED could also make the new iPad mini more expensive than its predecessor, although Apple has not confirmed pricing.
When will the new devices launch?
Apple’s ‘Pro and Tell’ event is scheduled for October 28, although some product announcements could arrive as early as October 27.Unlike Apple’s traditional keynote presentations, the Los Angeles event is expected to focus on product demonstrations and hands-on experiences for invited media.
The new MacBook Pro models could become available in November, according to reports.
For now, the final specifications, pricing and India availability of the expected devices remain unconfirmed.
