Actor Ranveer Singh has been ruling social media ever since his rapper avatar made it to Indian theatres through 'Gully Boy'. Not only in India, the actor gathered some fans overseas, one of them being wrestler-turned-actor John Cena. The 41-year-old took to his official Instagram account to share a cover of Singh's popular song, 'Apna Time Aayega', from the Zoya Akhtar film.
Cena's shout-out to the 'Simmba' actor's movie took the internet by storm with several fans reacting to it in strange ways. While some appeared confused at Cena's post, others were chuffed at the WWE champ's praise for Singh.
"My time is now, john Cena Aapna time ayeaga" one of the fans commented.
"Yessssssss...My Time is Nowwwwww" said another.
However, this isn't the first time that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion shared pictures of Bollywood icons on Instagram. Earlier, he shared pictures of comedian Kapil Sharma, singer Daler Mehndi, actor Aamir Khan, and had even quoted Shah Rukh Khan on both Twitter and Instagram.
Based on Mumbai's underground rap scene, 'Gully Boy' tells the story of Murad (Singh), a young boy living in the slums of Mumbai who aspires to make it big in the music world. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt and Siddhant Chaturvedi in pivotal roles.
As Ranveer Singh Turns 34, Here's A Look At His Quirky Fashion Moments
1/6
Ranveer Singh is all things Bollywood, over-the-top, and dramatic. Singh is synonymous with his theatrics and abundant energy, both on and off-screen. Add to that his bold, and out-of-the-box style, and you have a star who is not afraid to experiment. On his 33rd birthday, we revisit some typical, 'Befikre' Ranveer-kinda fashion moments that only he could pull off with élan.

For Singh, his sartorial choices have often been synonymous with breaking stereotypes. In 2015 period drama 'Bajirao Mastani', he glided into the role of a warrior prince, looking the classic part in a flared dhoti and bandh-gala by designer Anju Modi. His stylist, Nitasha Gaurav, has helped him pick outfits that go on to make a statement. (Image: Instagram/Nitasha Gaurav)

One man's agony is often another man's ecstasy! In an industry where every established (and wannabe, too!) star wants to look, act and be original, Ranveer Singh has carved his own niche. Printed pants, silk nightgown, Sylvester fluffy slip-on, outlandish capes, expletive-laden T-shirts, PJs - he has worn 'em all, and flaunted them, as well. Not one to shy away from loud colours, he evokes confidence and quirk in equal measure. (Image: Agencies)

Who other than Ranveer Singh can ace an animal print outfit with so much panache? The actor performed on stage in front of a live audience on Bappi Lahiri's hit tracks at an award ceremony. And if his outfit spelt swag, the frizzy mop, the retro (glitter-filled) shades and metallic stick ensured he got the accessories right. (Image: Instagram/Ranveer Singh)

Move over, superheroes! Bollywood has its very own superhero in Ranveer Singh. Not a lot of men can carry the cape with so much style as Singh did at the premiere of his film 'Befikre' in 2016. The ensemble is from noted British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood. The choice of the colour of the suit, away from the greys and blacks was a welcome change. The chartreuse yellow and brown shoes upped the style quotient. (Image: Instagram/Nitasha Gaurav)
