Anushka Sharma & Virat Kolhi name daughter 'Vamika', introduce her to the world

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli began 2021 with the birth of their daughter. While the couple announced the birth of their first child on social media, they requested for privacy, asking people not to click pictures of the newborn. Now, three weeks after her birth, the parents are ready to introduce her to the world.

Sharma, in an emotion-filled social media post, revealed the little one's name - Vamika. Sharing a picture of the beaming parents holding their daughter, the 'Sultan' actress said that while sleep is elusive, their "hearts are SO full."

"We have lived together with love , presence and gratitude as a way of life but this little one , Vamika has taken it to a whole new level ! Tears , laughter , worry , bliss - emotions that have been experienced in a span of minutes sometimes !," Sharma added going on to express gratitude for the wishes, prayers and good energy.

The couple had welcomed their daughter on January 11. The Indian skipper had announced that he was going on paternity leave in December, and had returned home from Australia where Team India was at the time playing the Test series.


The couple had tied the knot on December 11 in 2017 in an intimate ceremony in Tuscany, after dating for four years.
