An emotional birthday message for Kirron Kher
Taking to social media, Anupam Kher wished Kirron happiness, good health and peace on her special day. The veteran actor looked back on their long journey together and revealed that he has known her for nearly 52 years. In his message, Anupam wrote that their relationship has evolved through many phases. He first knew Kirron as an admirer, then as a friend, and for almost 41 years as a husband.
The actor shared that some of life's most meaningful lessons are not taught directly. Instead, they are absorbed quietly over time. According to him, it was only when he looked back at their journey that he realised how much he had learned from Kirron, not through advice or lectures, but through the way she lived her life.
The biggest lesson he learned
Anupam's note was less about grand declarations and more about gratitude.Looking at their decades together, he said that learning often happens silently. He explained that people sometimes discover years later how deeply they have been influenced by someone close to them. Looking back, he realised that Kirron had taught him important lessons simply through her actions, values and approach to life.
The actor went on to thank her for her strength, integrity, friendship and unwavering presence in his life. His message suggested that the greatest lesson he learned was that character and resilience speak louder than words.
Their relationship began with friendship
Long before they became husband and wife, Anupam and Kirron shared a close friendship. Over time, that friendship developed into a strong bond that eventually led to marriage. The couple tied the knot on August 26, 1985, and have since become one of the most respected pairs in the entertainment industry.
Before marrying Anupam, Kirron was married to businessman Gautam Berry and shares a son, actor Sikandar Kher, with him. Anupam was also married earlier. After both experienced difficulties in their respective marriages, they eventually found companionship and support in each other.
Over the years, they have often spoken about the importance of friendship in sustaining their relationship.
The famous 'cup of tea' confession
For the unversed, Anupam had earlier made a humorous revelation about their marriage during an interview with Times Now.The actor joked, “We are always one family, touchwood. We have no pretensions. Kirron has never called me like, ‘Sunte ho ji’. I am dying for her to call me like that, or even make a cup of tea for me. She can’t even boil an egg. I have a dream that she should make a cup of tea for me. I make really good food; I used to make a lot when we were dating each other
Anupam's birthday tribute states what has kept their bond strong for over four decades. Rather than focusing on material gestures, he chose to celebrate Kirron's qualities as a person, her courage, honesty, friendship and strength.
