'Annaatthe' first single out; Rajinikanth pays tribute to SP Balasubrahmanyam

'Annatthe Annaatthe Varen' is out!

Starring superstar Rajinikanth, the peppy number is sung by late legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam (SPB) for the upcoming Tamil film 'Annatthe'.

Production house Sun Pictures released the video on Twitter on Monday. "#AnnaattheAnnaatthe - The first single from Annaatthe is here," the caption read.



Soon after the official release, Rajinikanth took to the micro-blogging site to share an emotional note in Tamil language.

In his heartwarming letter, the 70-year-old actor Rajinikanth paid tributes to SPB, who passed away last year due to COVID-19.

Rajini confessed that, at the time of filming the song, he never imagined that 'Annatthe Annaatthe Varen' would be the last song SPB would sing for him. He also said that SPB lived as his voice for 45 years, and would continue to live on through his sweet voice.

"My love SPB will live on through his sweet voice forever," he wrote.

The film is directed by ace filmaker Siva. While D Imman is the music composer, lyrics are by Viveka.

The movie is slated to be released on Diwali, November 4.
