Securing a dream job rarely happens overnight; it is often the result of sustained effort and resilience. Entrepreneur and motivational speaker Ankur Warikoo recently highlighted this truth by sharing the journey of a software engineer whose remarkable career leap captured widespread attention online, on YouTube.

The professional’s story, which gained traction on Reddit, began with humble beginnings. He started out as an intern at a small, local firm, earning a modest monthly stipend of around ₹15,000. Despite the limited pay and opportunities at the time, he remained focused on improving his skills and building a strong foundation for the future. Over time, his persistence paid off when he eventually secured a high-paying position at Google, reportedly earning an impressive annual package of ₹7.5 crore.

The Strategy Behind the Success

According to Warikoo, the engineer followed a disciplined and consistent approach to self-improvement. One of his major efforts involved solving approximately 500 problems on LeetCode, a popular platform used by programmers to strengthen problem-solving and technical skills. This rigorous practice helped him prepare for competitive coding interviews and sharpen his logical thinking.


In addition to this, he actively contributed to around 12 open-source projects, gaining hands-on experience while collaborating with developers from across the world. Another strategic move in his journey was switching companies every couple of years, allowing him to expand his expertise, take on new challenges, and steadily increase his market value.

Warikoo’s Work in Education and Skill Building

An alumnus of the Indian School of Business, Warikoo has also built a strong presence in the education space. He founded WebVeda, an online learning platform aimed at helping young professionals develop essential life skills, including entrepreneurship, personal growth, and career management. The platform has enrolled over 480,000 paid learners globally and maintains a high course completion rate.

Beyond this, he initiated the India Genius Challenge, a nationwide initiative designed to identify and support talented students across the country by offering scholarships worth ₹10 lakh.
