Ankur Warikoo Seeks Credit Card Suggestions

“Need your help, lovely people. I am relinquishing my Axis Vistara Credit Card (I think it’s served its term well) and looking for a good travel credit card. Recommendations, please? Annual spends between Rs 20-25 lakhs. I am self-employed and draw a salary of Rs 50 lakh per annum,” Warikoo wrote in his post, inviting suggestions from his followers.

Warikoo's career has been marked by bold choices and rapid growth. At 24, he started his professional life earning a modest Rs 14,746 per month. However, he made a significant decision to leave his fully-funded PhD program at Michigan State University. Despite a substantial fee of Rs 14.5 lakh, he opted to return to India and enroll in the Indian School of Business (ISB) to pursue an MBA. This decision turned out to be a pivotal moment in his career.

During campus placements, Warikoo secured a consulting role with AT Kearney, landing the job on the first day. This role came with an annual package of Rs 12 lakh, marking the beginning of his upward career trajectory. Within just five years, his earnings had grown to Rs 33 lakh per year.

Today, as a self-employed professional, Warikoo’s annual income has reached Rs 50 lakh, a figure he shared openly on social media while asking for input on a new credit card. His transparency about his financial journey has further connected him with his audience, who appreciate his straightforward approach to discussing personal finance.
