Music composer Anirudh Ravichander and Sunrisers Hyderabad co-owner Kavya Maran are preparing for a reported wedding celebration that has already drawn attention beyond the worlds of cinema and cricket. With invitations reaching prominent political figures, the spotlight is now on the guest list for the couple’s upcoming Chennai reception. The Telangana Chief Minister’s Office has stated that the reception is scheduled for November 21, 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy are among the high-profile figures reported to have received invitations. However, receiving an invitation does not necessarily mean that a guest will attend.

Anirudh Ravichander And Kavya Maran Wedding: PM Narendra Modi Invited

Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran and his wife, Kavery Maran, have personally extended invitations to several prominent public figures ahead of the reported celebration. According to India Today and NDTV, the Maran family met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to invite him to the reception. Anirudh’s parents, actor Ravi Raghavendra and Lakshmi Ravichander, were also present during the meeting, according to the reports.

The invitation has attracted attention because of the families’ connections across business and entertainment. Kalanithi Maran heads the Sun Group, while Anirudh is one of the prominent music composers in Indian cinema. Although Modi has reportedly received an invitation, his attendance at the reception has not been confirmed.

Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Also Receives Wedding Invitation

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, widely known as Thalapathy Vijay, is another prominent name on the reported invitation list. India Today and The Times of India reported that Kalanithi Maran met Vijay to invite him to the reception, with Anirudh and Kavya’s mother, Kavery Maran, also present. The meeting has generated interest among fans, bringing together two familiar names from Tamil cinema and public life. Vijay is an actor-turned-politician, while Anirudh has composed music for several major Tamil films.

Former Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK leader M. K. Stalin has also been reported among those invited, according to India Today. As with the other invitees, his attendance has not been established.

Revanth Reddy Confirms November 21 Chennai Reception

The most concrete information about the reception date came from the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office. In a post shared on October 16, the office said that Kalanithi and Kavery Maran had met Revanth Reddy at his residence in Hyderabad and invited him to their daughter’s wedding reception. “The wedding reception of Kavya Maran and Anirudh Ravichander is scheduled to be held in Chennai on November 21,” the post stated.

The Indian Express and Hindustan Times subsequently reported the announcement, making the Chennai reception date the clearest publicly documented detail about the event. Reports have also suggested that the wedding ceremony could take place in Greece on November 11. However, the couple have not publicly confirmed the reported destination ceremony, and details such as the full guest list and venue arrangements remain limited.

Why The Wedding Has Drawn So Much Attention

Kavya Maran is associated with the Sun Group and serves as the chief executive of Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Indian Premier League franchise. Her appearances during IPL matches have made her a recognisable figure among cricket fans. Anirudh, meanwhile, has built a career composing music for Indian films, with soundtracks that have reached audiences across several industries. Their reported wedding has therefore attracted interest from fans of both cinema and cricket, as well as business and political observers.

For now, the invitations offer a glimpse of the reception’s potential guest list, rather than a confirmed attendance roster. With November 21 approaching, further announcements may clarify which of the high-profile invitees will join the families in Chennai.
