Anil Chopra and Noel Tata collaborate to launch StudioWest

For all those who thought that Anil Chopra, former CEO, Lakme Lever, had hung his boots and was content playing host to guests in his Goa home, turns out that he was hard at work on a secret mission. Chopra has been quietly leading the development and launch of StudioWest cosmetics, fragrances and skincare for Trent -Westside. He is all smiles now, as the brand hits stores nationwide.

Chopra says that he got the first call from Noel Tata, chairman of Trent Limited and managing director of Tata International, when he was in his car. "I met him and agreed with his vision for the brand, then said yes," he says. Chopra came up with the name StudioWest, based on creating a beauty playground for women. The team loved the name so much that they gave it the go ahead, skipping market research. When it comes to beauty, Chopra still has the last word.
