Anand Mahindra's daughter Divya had a super-quiet wedding

Very little is public about the extremely low-profile daughters of Mahindra & Mahindra group chairman, Anand Mahindra. In fact, both so fiercely guard their privacy that Mahindra and his wife Anuradha hardly ever say anything about them to the media. Both daughters seem to have no interest in the M&M business empire and have sought to build their independent careers.

But what ET Panache has now picked up from a few globetrotters is that Divya Mahindra has found a Latin American life partner, Jorge Zapata, whom she is believed to have married in a private ceremony last year.

Based in US, Divya wed her partner without the usual Indian wedding pomp and splendour. Jorge Zapata, who has a degree from the Yale School of Architecture, heads a New York-based architecture firm DIAD. In April 2014 Anand Mahindra had tweeted about a visit to the restaurant El Born: "The dining experience at El Born is turbocharged by architect Jorge Zapata's grotto-inspired interior and tapas bar."

A couple of Instagram pictures show the Mahindra clan and Jorge Zapata with friends at a few private social dos in the US.

When contacted, Anand Mahindra refused to say anything on the subject. "My daughters value their privacy. So I regret I cannot co-operate on this one," he wrote in an email response. And as far as reliable officials are to be believed, there is unlikely to be any celebration in India.
