Anand Mahindra praises Gwalior student's innovative 'drone-copter'; viral video stuns the internet

In a remarkable achievement, Medhansh Trivedi, a high school student from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, has captured national attention for building a single-seater drone-copter from scratch. He is currently studying in Class 12 at Scindia School and has spent three months constructing the drone, which can carry a person weighing up to 80 kilograms and sustain flight for approximately six minutes. His innovation caught the attention of Indian businessman, Anand Mahindra.

Industrialist Anand Mahindra highlighted Trivedi’s accomplishment on social media, lauding the young innovator for his passion for engineering and his dedication to seeing the project through. Trivedi’s creation, named MLDT 01, is reportedly inspired by advancements in drone technology from China. With a top speed of 60 kilometres per hour, the drone has the potential to be a game-changer in its field.

He wrote, “It’s not so much about innovation, since the know-how of building such a machine is available on the net. It’s about the passion for engineering and the commitment to get the job done. The more young people we have like this the more innovative a nation we will become…”
