Billionaire Anand Mahindra attended the grand opening of the much-hyped Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai on Friday evening. He was accompanied by his wife Anuradha.

For the inauguration gala, the auto boss opted for an all-black Jodhpuri suit, his wife kept it classy in a salmon pink saree with intricate floral zari work.

On Saturday, the Mahindra Group Chairman took to Twitter to share his epic experience from the 'The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation' show.


Conceived by theatre director Feroz Abbas Khan, the immersive theatrical experience premiered in the all-new NMACC's 2,000-seater Grand Theatre, which also features a world-class stage and a unique lotus-themed chandelier made with 8,400 Swarovski crystals.

In his post, the 67-year-old said that the narrative of the musical show stirred his heart.

Alongside two videos from the grand opening night, Mahindra heaped praises at the "spectacular panorama of India’s cultural and political history." He said he wanted his grandsons to witness the grandeur of Indian culture too.

In his two part-tweet, he also thanked the hosts of the evening - Nita and Mukesh Ambani - for creating a platform "second to none."

His tweet read, "The light, sound, colour & movement are dazzling. But more than the spectacle, it is the narrative that stirs the heart. My dominant sentiment was of wanting my two grandsons to see the show and grasp the richness of their Indian heritage. Thank you #NitaAmbani & #MukeshAmbani for this show & a performance platform second to none…"


In just one hour, both his posts (at the time of writing this article) got more than 86K and 38K views, respectively, and have been steadily increasing.

The cultural hub is home to three performing arts spaces - the 2,000-seater Grand Theatre, the technologically advanced 250-seater Studio Theatre, and the dynamic 125-seater Cube. It also features a four-storey Art House, a dedicated visual arts space, built according to global museum standards.

The NMACC is said to be India's first-of-its-kind, multi-disciplinary space for arts. It is located within the Jio World Centre, in the heart of Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex.
