Anand Mahindra has a Japanese solution to water conservation - toilets with hand wash sink
Indian billionaire Anand Mahindra has taken to Twitter to promote a Japanese toilet design that has a sink attached to it, conserving water by reusing it to flush. Mahindra said the method should become "standard in India."

The world has started to adopt various ideologies inspired by Japanese culture.
From 'Ikigai' to 'Wabi-Sabi', people around the world follow these concepts from Japanese philosophy to transform their lives.
It appears billionaire Anand Mahindra, who is a fan of life hacks, is also taken with the Japanese way of life. On Tuesday, the businessman took to Twitter to share a Japanese solution to water conservation with his more than 10.6 million followers.
Quote-tweeting a post by the Fascinating facts page, the 69-year-old shared a dual-pane picture of a Japanese toilet with a hand wash sink.
The fun-facts account claimed that many toilets in Japan have hand wash sinks attached to the back of the commode so that the same water is reused for the next flush. "Japan saves millions of litres of water every year doing this," the tweet claimed.
"Simple innovations. Perhaps the strongest weapons to sustain the planet … this should become a standard in India," the auto boss wrote in his post.
Mahindra's got a lot of appreciation with more than 444K views and around 6K likes. Comments and suggestions flooded in as soon as he shared his post.
From suggesting different ways to conserve water to complaining about India’s water efficiency initiatives, Mahindra’s fans had a lot to say about the Japanese innovation.
Yes sir, it should be but sadly as of now India doesn’t have standards for water efficiency. Most taps in India dispense water @ 15-30 LPM and that is a big waste of water everyday! India badly need standards for water efficiency asap!
