Anand Mahindra awarded by the French ambassador
Anand Mahindra is no stranger to awards. But the one he received last Saturday was special. The Mahindra Group chairman was honoured with Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour) by the French ambassador Francoise Richier at his residence in the embassy premises in New Delhi. Interestingly, Mahindra’s father Harish Mahindra and uncle Keshub Mahindra have also been recipients of this award in the past.

Present on the occasion was his wife Anuradha and cousins Anju Mehra, Leena and Sanjay Labroo. Considering his affinity to keep things low-key, Mahindra turned down the customary reception which the embassy was scheduled to host. He only tweeted about it on Tuesday, "Received with humility, and gratitude to the Ambassador and the French Republic..." The award, which was started by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802, is the highest French civilian award.
