Singer Victoria Beckham was gifted a $8 million Bulgari necklace by husband and football star David Beckham in 2006. The diamond necklace was a Valentine’s gift and was custom designed by David Beckham and is said to feature rubies and diamonds. When he gave his wife the necklace, Beckham flew in chefs from her favourite restaurant in London to Spain to prepare the Valentine’s dinner.

In 2013 on Valentine’s Day, rapper and singer Kanye West gifted his then pregnant girlfriend reality star Kim Kardashian a $73,000 Cartier bracelet. The diamond-encrusted panther motif cuff is complete with emerald eyes and an onyx nose, on a black cuff with white-gold trim. Kardashian, who loves showing off her presents and life on social media, shared a picture of her Valentine’s Day gift on Instagram, with the caption: “My new pet panther! #TheDonStrikesYetAgain”.

UK-based businessman Raj Kundra in 2009 gave then girlfriend Shilpa Shetty an 11.7 per cent stake in Rajasthan Royals, the first season champs of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Kundra spent $15.4 million on that. The couple, who married later that year, promoted the team and attended many of their matches. The team has been suspended for two years (2016 and 2017) over a corruption and match-fixing scandal.

Emerald-cut Engagement Ring

On Valentine’s Day in 2007, Howard Stern, one of America’s most well known radio personalities, handed over a 5.2 carat emerald-cut engagement ring to his then girlfriend actress Beth Ostrosky. The ring is estimated to be worth more than $250,000. The couple got married in 2008 and are still together

Bespoke Bentley Brooklands

For Valentine’s Day in 2010, singer Katy Perry gifted her then fiance comedian Russell Brand a lilac-colored Bentley Brooklands which was customised and estimated to be over $341,000. The car is based on the same one The Who’s late drummer Keith Moon used to have. Perry and Brand married later that year and went on to get divorced in 2012.
