An evening in Indore: Anand Mahindra reveals his romantic connection with the smart city
Indore, the city in Madhya Pradesh, is undergoing rapid industrialization and has recently been named the best 'National Smart City' in India. Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, shared his romantic connection to the city.

Indore, the city well-known for its cotton handloom industry, also has a special place in billionaire businessman Anand Mahindra's heart.
The Chairman of the Mahindra Group, who is in Indore for the 603rd meeting of the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India on Friday, remembered his romantic connection with the city.
The 69-year-old took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share his love story with his 10.7 million followers on the social media platform. He revealed that he first met his wife, Anuradha Mahindra, in Indore.
"Always good to get to Indore. It’s the city where I first met my wife. But here for a less romantic reason this time: The RBI board meeting," the auto boss tweeted alongside a video of the city.
In October last year, Indore bagged the prestigious award of India's cleanest city for the sixth time in a row.
Continuing in his tweet, Mahindra said that Indore appears like a "giant construction site," but continues to be India’s cleanest city.
"Indore still holds on to its title as India’s cleanest city. Right now it’s a bit like a giant construction site. But that’s to build a Metro, which will only enhance the quality of life of its citizens," he added in his tweet.
After the trial run in September, the metro in Indore is expected to open to the public in April-May 2024. In the first phase for the public, the metro will be about 16 kilometres long, which will start from the airport (Gandhi Nagar area) to Khajrana intersection via Vijay Nagar.
