LOS ANGELES: Amy Winehouse's father has slammed Indo-British filmmaker Asif Kapadia after winning the best documentary Oscar for his project "Amy" about the late singer.

Mitch Winehouse has not been a fan of Kapadia since the first time he watched "Amy", which documents the tragic star's rise to fame and her battle with drink and drugs, which led to her untimely death in 2011, reported Emtertainment Weekly.

He subsequently vowed to make a new film to show Amy and her family in their true light as he was upset with his depiction in the movie.

"We're going to invite everyone that's spoken on the other film and we're not going to edit it, like they've edited me, and we're going to tell the truth about Amy's life because this is not," he said.

Mitch continued to take aim at Kapadia online after "Amy" was nominated for an Academy Award in January (16), but that didn't stop the filmmaker from praising the "Rehab" hitmaker in his acceptance speech after winning the Oscar.
