Punjabi singer-actor Ammy Virk’s convoy was recently subjected to a shooting incident in Canada. As per a Mint report, the Bad Newz actor and singer’s convoy was subjected to not one but 7 shots after his concert in Abbotsford, Canada. However, no injuries were reported. Several accounts state that the occupants of a dark-coloured SUV opened fire on a car thought to be part of his concert entourage. A car was shot at in the 2500-block of McCallum Road just after 11 p.m., according to the Abbotsford Police Department.

One of Punjab’s most popular singers and actors, Ammy Virk, opened up about his financial struggles in some earlier interviews. During a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Virk opened up about growing up middle-class and how his father sacrificed a lot for his dreams. For example, his father sold their automobile to pay for Ammy's first album. He talked about his origins and how, following his success in Punjab, he paid back his father's loan of Rs 30–40 lakh and constructed a new home for them in their hamlet in 2012.

“From 2013 to 2015, whatever money I earned, I put all of that in that house in the village. We got Italian marble, full-body showers, and everything. The full-body showers in that house cost Rs 6-7 lakh,” he said.

Ammy also revealed that the family purchased their first AC in 2009, and six members of the family used to sleep in one room. Now they have nine ACs in their new home and a home theatre. One shower reportedly cost Rs 6 lakh.

He also revealed how his father sacrificed a lot to finance his dreams. “People often ask me about the first car I bought; I tell them that I actually sold a car first.” He then added, “For my first album, my father sold our Zen for Rs 2.5-3 lakh, and he got another Rs 2.5-3 lakh on loan, and he put all of that money (Rs 5 lakh) into my first album,” he said.

According to a DNA India report, Virk is one of the richest actor-singers in Punjab with a networth of Rs 131 crore. Ammy Virk experienced success in various Punjabi films such as Bambukat (2016), Ardaas (2016), Laung Laachi (2018), Qismat (2018), and Saukan Saunkne (2022).
