Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, has embarked on an exciting new chapter at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. She has enrolled in the prestigious Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) for MBA, a two-year course designed for working professionals and entrepreneurs.

Navya took to Instagram to celebrate her admission, sharing a series of photographs from the IIM Ahmedabad campus. Her post read, "Dreams do come true!!!!!! Excited for the next 2 years with the best people & faculty! Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) Class of 2026." The photos include snapshots of her in a black suit against the backdrop of the picturesque campus, along with images of her celebrating with friends and cutting a cake. She also thanked her teacher Prasad for his support in her entrance exams.

IIM Ahmedabad 2-Year Degree Blended MBA Programme

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad this year launched a new two-year Online MBA program. This degree-granting postgraduate program is specifically tailored for working professionals and entrepreneurs who wish to balance their demanding careers with their aspirations for advanced education.

The Online MBA is a blended (hybrid) program that integrates both on-campus, in-person sessions and live, interactive online classes. It is designed for experienced participants with at least three years of professional experience. The majority of the program will be delivered in a synchronous online format, complemented by five distinct on-campus modules. Eligible candidates for the program include working professionals and entrepreneurs with a minimum of three years of full-time work experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Staying true to IIMA’s teaching philosophy, the program will primarily utilize a case-based approach, focusing on applied learning to equip participants with the knowledge and skills essential for thriving in today’s rapidly changing business landscape.

The curriculum is designed to upskill professionals by exposing them to managerial decision-making frameworks rooted in disciplines such as human behavior, economics, and finance.

Eligibility and Admission

Admissions will be determined through an entrance exam (IIMA Admission Test (IAT), CAT, GMAT, or GRE) followed by a personal interview. A valid CAT score (CAT score of tests taken within the last 5 years from May 01, 2024 ) or, a valid GMAT/GRE score (GMAT/GRE score taken within the last 5 years from May 01, 2024, says IIM Ahmedabad website.

Navya's programme fee would be Rs 20 lakh, exclusive of travel and accommodation expenses for campus modules. There is also a non-refundable application fee of Rs 2,000 (for CAT/GMAT/GRE applicants) or Rs 3,000 (for IAT applicants).

How Long Will Navya Stay In IIM Ahmedabad-Campus

The Online MBA program offered by IIMA, which Navya is enrolled in, is primarily delivered through live, online sessions, supplemented by five distinct on-campus modules, each typically lasting one week. The program spans 900 hours of classroom instruction and project work, amounting to 36 credits of coursework.

Navya’s Unique Path

Despite her family’s deep roots in Bollywood, Navya has chosen a different career trajectory. She previously served as the founder and CEO of Aara Health and co-founded Nimaya Foundation. In 2021, she launched Project Naveli, a non-profit organization focused on women’s empowerment. Navya also hosts the podcast "What The Hell Navya," where she and her family discuss feminism and societal roles.

Navya’s mother, Shweta Bachchan, has expressed that Navya is committed to her entrepreneurial and advocacy work, rather than pursuing a career in acting. Shweta stated, “I think you are very well acquainted with the work Navya does and she has her hands full. I don’t think Bollywood is the way to go for her.”
