Fans are eagerly waiting for the digital release of the much-awaited anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle. The highest-grossing anime film of all time is set to begin streaming on Netflix from July 28 in several Asian regions, giving viewers another chance to watch the opening chapter of the franchise's ambitious movie trilogy from home. Amid the excitement surrounding its OTT debut, a subtle update related to the film has caught fans' attention. Many believe it could be the first major hint about Infinity Castle Part 2.

Major update on Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 2

While the streaming announcement became the biggest talking point, fans were quick to notice a small but important detail in the film's updated promotional artwork. According to ComicBook and ScreenRant report, the official logo now includes the Roman numeral "I," clearly identifying the movie as the first installment of the planned trilogy.

Although the change may seem minor, many fans believe it signals that the franchise has quietly begun preparing audiences for the second chapter. The revised branding also makes it easier to distinguish the upcoming films as Parts II and III.

Why the update matters

When Infinity Castle first premiered in Japanese theatres, it was promoted as "Part 1 – Akaza Returns." However, international audiences mostly saw the film marketed simply as Infinity Castle, with little emphasis on it being the first film in a three-part finale.

The addition of the Roman numeral "I" now brings consistency to the film's global branding. More importantly, it establishes a clear naming pattern for the remaining two films, suggesting that the promotional campaign for Part 2 could be starting sooner than expected.

The timing of the change is also significant. After enjoying a hugely successful theatrical run for several months, the film is now entering its digital release phase. With the first movie reaching home audiences, the studio can gradually shift its attention toward promoting the sequel.

Is Infinity Castle Part 2 releasing soon?

Despite the fresh speculation, the makers have not announced an official release date for Infinity Castle Part 2.

Earlier this year, animation studio ufotable confirmed that the sequel remains one of its upcoming projects. However, the studio is also busy working on another highly anticipated film, Witch on the Holy Night. Because of this packed production schedule, several reports suggest that a 2026 theatrical release for Infinity Castle Part 2 now appears unlikely.

Instead, 2027 is widely considered the earliest possible release window. Even so, fans may not have to wait that long for new information. A teaser trailer, key visual or official announcement before the end of 2026 remains a strong possibility.

Demon Slayer Infinity Castle OTT release in India

While Netflix announced that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle will begin streaming on July 28 across several Asian countries, Indian fans are still left waiting.

The streaming platform has confirmed that the July 28 release excludes India, along with Japan and Mainland China. As of now, there is no official OTT premiere date for the film in India.

However, several media reports claim that the movie is also expected to stream on Crunchyroll after completing its theatrical run in India. Reports further suggest that the film has been made available for pre-order on Amazon Prime Video in select regions, although availability varies from country to country.

For many viewers, the addition of a single Roman numeral may appear insignificant. However, in major film franchises, even the smallest branding changes often hint at bigger plans behind the scenes.

With Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle preparing for its digital rollout, attention is gradually shifting towards what comes next for Tanjiro, Nezuko and the Demon Slayer Corps. Stay tuned!
