American mom of 3 who stays in India finally addresses if Indian culture is a 'downgrade' for her kids

Kristen Fischer does not believe that raising her children in India is a “downgrade.” Taking to Instagram in December, the American influencer revealed that a few of her acquaintances had asked her why she deprived her kids of growing up in the US. Addressing the question, Fischer shared an adorable montage of her two daughters having the time of their lives growing up in India.

Sharing the video, Fischer wrote, “I get this question a lot, seemingly from well-intentioned people. How could I subject my kids to growing up in India when they have the option to grow up in the USA?”

She then went on to add, “People just assume living in India will mean a lesser life for my kids. When, in fact, I believe they are better off for it. The friends, experiences, and life that my kids have here make them happy and thriving. I wouldn't trade this life for anything. I believe my kids will grow into stronger, happier, and more equipped adults because of their rich experiences growing up here in India.”


In the video, Fischer’s daughters are roaming the streets, dolls in their arms, playing with their friends in the kindergarten, having fun with colours during Holi, riding an elephant, climbing trees, etc.

Kristen’s husband Tim seconded enthusiastically, “Our kids are growing up with such a broad cultural perspective. I think they are lucky to get the best of both cultures.”

Another referred to the frequent shooting incidents that take place in the US and wrote, “They will never undergo an active shooter drill at school. Their only concern at school will be their friendships, recess, and homework, as it should be. Stay blessed..”
