An unusual Amazon recommendation caught Vijay Shekhar Sharma's eye at midnight on Wednesday.

The suggestion read, "Add a top-selling DVD to your order".

The founder and CEO of Paytm was confused to see the recommendation. Sharing with his 478.4K followers on Twitter, the 43-year-old entrepreneur confirmed that he had never purchased or browsed through any such items in years.

Compact discs (CDs), Digital versatile disc (DVDs) and Blu-ray discs that were released in the mid-1990s are slowly getting replaced by streaming platforms.

The Twitterati soon came to the tech businessman's rescue. While some found humour in the issues, others were trying to figure out what must have prompted Amazon's suggestion.
