Alpha OTT release: Where to watch
The makers have not announced an official streaming date yet, but Alpha is expected to stream on Netflix. Reports from Mid-Day and other entertainment portals state that Netflix has secured the film's post-theatrical streaming rights. The platform's branding also appears in the film's opening credits, indicating its OTT destination.Going by the release pattern followed by many recent Hindi films, Alpha is expected to arrive on Netflix around six to eight weeks after its theatrical release. Some reports have also suggested that an Independence Day release around August 15 is possible because of the film's spy and patriotic backdrop. However, there has been no confirmation from Yash Raj Films or Netflix so far, so viewers will have to wait for an official announcement.
Box office performance
Alpha has struggled to maintain momentum at the ticket counters despite being one of the most talked-about Hindi releases of the year. According to Sacnilk, the film collected around Rs 55.2 crore net in India after nearly two weeks in theatres. Its domestic gross collection stands at about Rs 65.7 crore. The film has also added over Rs 26 crore from overseas markets, taking its worldwide gross collection to over Rs 92 crore. Even though the numbers are lower than several previous entries in the YRF Spy Universe, the film has continued its theatrical run with support from the franchise's fan base.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is the seventh film in the YRF Spy Universe and the franchise's first story led by female spies. The screenplay has been written by Soumil Shukla, Shridhar Raghavan, Ishita Moitra and Uday Chopra. The story follows Sita, played by Alia Bhatt, a highly trained assassin created through a secret Regenerative Serum Programme. Determined to expose his criminal network, Sita joins hands with her sister Durga, played by Sharvari. Together, they take on Fateh's heavily armed organisation while dealing with betrayal, hidden truths and dangerous missions.
