The premiere event held on December 4 witnessed an overwhelming turnout of fans, which led to a stampede. A 39-year-old woman, Revathi, lost her life in the chaos, and her son, Sri Tej, was severely injured. The minor remains in critical condition, undergoing constant medical care.
Authorities arrested three individuals, including the theatre owner Sandeep, in connection with the incident. Allu Arjun himself was taken into custody by the Chikkadapalli police on December 13 for alleged negligence in handling the crowd. Though he was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court, he had to spend a night in jail due to a delay in processing the bail order.
Allu Arjun’s Statement
Addressing the situation, Allu Arjun released a note on Instagram, saying, “I remain deeply concerned about young Sri Tej, who is under constant medical care after the unfortunate incident. Due to ongoing legal proceedings, I have been advised not to visit him and his family at this time.”The actor emphasized his commitment to supporting the boy's recovery and his family’s needs, stating, “My prayers remain with them, and I remain committed to addressing their medical and family needs. I wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to meeting him and his family at the earliest.”
Defending his stance, Allu Arjun’s note reiterated that legal advice had restricted his actions at this time. Despite this, he assured fans of his dedication to taking responsibility for the victims’ welfare.
