Allu Arjun crosses 15 mn follower-mark on Instagram; 'Pushpa' makes Rs 343 cr globally

It was a special day for Telugu star Allu Arjun after he crossed the 15 million followers-mark on Instagram on Friday.

Expressing gratitude, the superstar - who is basking in the glory of the success of his recent movie 'Pushpa: The Rise' - thanked his fans and well-wishers for their unending love and support.

The 39-year-old took to Insta to share a picture of himself and celebrate the milestone.


"15 M. Thank you soo much for all the love you all shower. Humbled. Gratitude Forever. And Happy Sankranthi," the actor captioned the post.

The movie has managed to cross the Rs 343 crore mark in the box office worldwide. In India alone, it made Rs 261 crore.

On Wednesday, 'Pushpa' became the fifth South Indian film to cross the Rs 100 crore-mark in the North Indian market.

The last reported numbers by Box Office Bizz were on Day 26 (Wednesday) since its release on December 17.

As far as the Hindi version of the film is concerned, it has managed to garner Rs 81.58 crore. 'Pushpa' released in Hindi on Amazon Prime Video on Friday.

Film analyst Taran Adarsh said, "In the pandemic era, (the numbers) clearly indicate the love this film has got from moviegoers."

Arjun made his debut in 2003 with 'Gangotri' and rose to prominence in the next year with Sukumar's 'Arya'.

In his two-decade long career, he has featured in the mainstream cinema films such as 'Bunny', 'Desamuduru', 'Parugu' and 'Ala Vaikuntapuramlo'.

Arjun is set to begin shooting for the sequel of the blockbuster, titled 'Pushpa: The Rule', from March this year. He is also speculated to team up with filmmakers AR Murugodosss and Prashant Neel for their upcoming projects.
