Allegations of favouritism are part of the game: Sunil Sethi
Sunil Sethi, President, Fashion Design Council of India has been reportedly accused of nepotism and favouritism by a couple of designers. He says, "Such allegations are part of the game and I learnt this a long time back. It's not easy to please all the people all the time. There are only 30 odd slots to be given away to designers at the Amazon India Fashion Week.

FDCI has 400 designers as members and 4,000 more in the waiting. We have a jury in place to decide on which designers get to show and which don't. But selecting someone in fashion is a very subjective matter, unlike declaring winners at a 100 mt race. We can't give everyone what they want. Negativity aside, today, even people from small towns aspire to wear designer ensembles and that I'd say is our biggest achievement — taking fashion to every corner of India."
