All-rounder alert! Former world number 2 Vera Zvonareva is set to compete in WTA Mumbai Open
Mumbai will soon see a tennis star with a difference — Russia’s Vera Zvonareva. The former world No 2 will compete in the WTA Mumbai Open from November 18 to 26 at the Cricket Club of India.

The 33-year-old former Wimbledon runner-up is famous for her educational qualifications. She has a degree in physical education, a bachelor’s in diplomacy and a masters in global studies and political science.

“I always love studying. It was always very important for me to keep my head busy with something else,” Zvonareva once said in an interview.

Zvonareva also became a mother last year. And now she is back on court. All of this merits another degree for the all-embracing Russian.
